who do you call about a dead animal in the road
we have a dead cat in the road in front of our house....who do we call to remove it? TIA

if you're in NYC (I'm in Queens) then call 311.....if not then perhaps the Department of Transportation (DOT) I believe they handle that stuff.

If you are on LI the town or village in which you live. Usually their highway dept is the place to contact.

You can also call 311 in Nassau, I'm not sure if it's available in Suffolk.

Sadly enough, many towns use their local animal shelter employees to pick up dead animals in the rd.

I always call the Highway Dept. and if it's not their location to remove they will tell me who to call. Sorry you have to do this...so sad
