Whitestone Ladies - Big fire in shopping center
Not sure if anyone saw this , DH passed it last night and some of Whitestone shopping center is gone! 
the fire started in Lollipops but took out that whole side. I can't believe King Chef is gone - that was my fave place for Chinese food.
fortunately they said no one was hurt. I only caught a snippet on NY1, I'm guessing it should be on this evenings news

OMG! That's terrible! DH and I had Chinese the other night and I was thinking about Kings' Chef- they were the best in the area.
I'm glad no one was hurt, but it's such a shame.

thanks for posting, according to this Kings Chef is ok.
for another poster that asked where this is, its the shopping center along the Cross Island Parkway. It has a Key Food, Dress Barn among other stores

I cannot believe this!!!!!! I tend to avoid that shopping center on the weekends except for the gym (obviously I didn't go this weekend  ).
Wow...didn't see it on the news. What time did it start? Was anyone hurt?

king chef is fine along with chase and astoria federal. Key food wasn't affected because the fire was only in the first strip of stores

Yep DH was outside smoking and said he heard fire engines.

I live right near there. there was smoke all over my block too! It was really bad. It happened around 1-1:30. there were so many fire trucks.
