Which work schedule would you prefer
Which work schedule would you prefer and why ?
Sunday Monday 8-6 and Tuesday Wednesday 2-midnight
Or
Wednesday Thursday 2-midnight Friday Saturday 8-6
Spouse works a Monday to Friday job and gets home at 6. Leaves at 5:30am
Edit to add job is 3 miles from home

I think option 1 makes more sense.
Option 2 you work Thursday 2-12 and then need to be back 8 hours later (I’m assuming it’s 8am). By the time you get home and unwind it will be late plus you won’t see your children for almost 2 days.

Yes for me! I’m thinking option 1 as well! Only reason I was considering option 2 is Saturday’s my in laws take over my house and just lounge on my couch and destroy my house so I feel like a slave to my house picking up after them so I figured I might as well work  but Sunday- Wednesday I think is a better schedule

Option 1. Working 2-12 followed by 8-6 the next day is a miserable schedule. Also, your spouse can spend time with the kids on Sunday. Any chance you can have your in laws visit on Sunday while you are working?

option #1 because a lot of kids activities are on saturdays.
Seeing how i'm the one who 90% of the time is bringing the kids to the saturday events due to my husbands job, it would be nice to have another hand.

Thanks option 1 is my first choice too! This will be a big change for us since neither of us ever worked a weekend day!

I would prefer the second schedule acutally… Only because your kids are young and probably aren't involved in a lot yet. Since the job is only three miles the late Thursday shift to early Friday shift isn't that horrible.
