Which stroller? Picture attached.

I was all set on the Bob Revolution until I saw how big and bulky it is in the store. I also feel it lacked leg room for DS (picture on right).
We also had him tried the City Mini GT double (pic on left) which is larger then the City Mini double but I still feel it's too narrow. DS is broad around the shoulders. The GT is 12" wide which is one of the widest double strollers out there. Bumbleride is only 11".
I feel like he will outgrow both strollers rather quickly.
Which stroller would you pick? Do I have any other options? I have looked at every double stroller on the market. Ideally I would like to use it till DS is 5 years old. He is now 2 yrs 10 months is still naps 2-3 hours during the day so it must recline.

Of those 2- I would pick the City Mini. We have the regular City Mini double and my DD (just turned 3 and above average in height and weight) still naps in it comfortably.

Of those two, I would pick the City Mini - we have one and love it. DS is almost 3 1/2 (but, small) and is comfy in it.

Did you look at the comparible Britax one? I've heard good things about it as well.

I have two double strollers because I use them for two different things. I have the city select which I picked because my two are 19 months apart so at the time he was def still in a stroller but now he will be three in August and sometimes if we are strolling the mall for a long time and it's crowded or he's cranky I need him in the double but there are plenty of other times he can walk on his own so I like the versatility of the city select in that it is both a single and a double. I keep the stroller and the two seats in my car at all times so I'm always prepared, the two seats lay super flat by the way, but I feel like if I bought a different double I'd always have a big bulky double in the Jeep and if ds1 wanted to walk I'd still have to put ds2 in a double that I really didn't need at that moment. I ALSO keep a Maclaren in the Jeep because sometimes we go to places where it is really tight like a store or a place out to eat that I want to keep my 13 month old in the stroller where a double or a full size...like the city select is when a single, won't fit.

I also have the Bob revolution double. I bought it on albeebaby.com it was like $200 cheeper than BBB and REi plus free shipping and no tax. I use that for walks and running with the kids. The city mini, city select and bumble aren't meant for working out and running. The bob is perfect for that with the right tires, shocks and it is very lightweight. For ME, I needed both. If you are looking for a double for the stores, outings like a park or White Post Farms and for taking casual walks around the neighborhood and not looking to start run or do fast pace walking with it then don't waste your money on the Bob, it is def bulky and I can't picture taking it to the mall with me. If you ARE a runner or plan to become one with a stroller, then def get the Bob. But I would seriously think about getting a second stroller for stores and stuff if you do get it.

he looks more comfy in the city mini.

i have the britax double that is just like the city mini and my 3 year old fits in it (and she is off the charts in height and weight).

I was only looking at the Bob because I thought jogging strollers would be roomier but it's not. Just the wheels are bigger. I do not plan on jogging with it.
I have looked at the Britax and it's 11.5" wide with no room for growth.
We tried the City Mini Select at the store and it's way too small.
DS is 40lbs and 41" tall and he's not even 3 yet. I am proud of his healthy weight and size but it's so hard for me. I am only 5'1" and I physically cannot fold the Bob and carry it.

We have the Peg Perego Aria twin and he's already outgrowing it. The weight limit is only 90 lbs or 45lbs per child. I wish I had known he would be big I would've invested in a larger stroller. This is stroller #5 for use including all the single strollers we've had.

The GT is great and I'm leaning heavily towards that but it's $100 more. That's $500 for a stroller that I can use for maybe a year. I've been checking ebay and craigslist for a used one but with no luck. I am at my wits end with stroller shopping.

I'm not much taller than you and I have to have dh take the bob stroller out for me and pop it up because it is just too beastly for me to do alone lol. I could never picture using it daily and having to open and close it. Have you tried Albee baby for the gt stroller or even the buy swap sell boards on Facebook?

Your son doesn't look like he has much room in either of those strollers. We have the bumblieride indie twin and my 4.5 yo who is very tall is still comfortable in it. I purchased it brand new off of ebay for a cheaper price than the stores

Did you try any inline double strollers? Maybe you can find a wider one in inline since it doesn't have the side by side's limit to fit thru doors...

I have a bumble ride indie twin I got it on ebay too and combi which I LOVE LOVE LOVE because it is super fast to open and close and it's like 1000x lighter, but it's a cheapy, and not built to last .

I think in order for them to fit thru standard doors they can only be 29" wide right? So in order to be side by side and fit all the framing, they probably can all only be so wide per seat. KWIM?

I don't have a problem with it fitting through the doorway. My front door is 36" wide. I was able to fit my bike trailer through the door. I just wasn't able to find anything wider than 12" for the interior dimension.
I'm not a fan of tandem strollers. I like the interaction between the boys. Also with tandem strollers I feel it's too heavy to lift the wheels over a curb because it's front heavy.

Did you look at a Mountain Buggy Stroller? My friend was considering this for her twins because she wanted a size by side that could accomodate 2 infant seats side by side which would lead me to believe it's wider than the City Mini since it can only accomodate 1.

I meant most doors in stores and what not. I think that most commercial doors by law have to accommodate a wheelchair and the minimum size of most exterior/commercial door opening width is 36" with an opening of something like 32" ...so most strollers need to be no wider than 29-30" to do that.

I have a really hard time getting my combi thru the doors at Target (really more the security things inside the door which also has to be wide enough for a wheel chair) and the front doors of massapequa mall, it barely fits and it's not wide by any means.
