Which nickname...?
DS is Alexander. We've been calling him Xander (he's only a few months old). I LOVED the name at the hospital, but writing a name that begins with an "X" is not coming very natural to me. The reason we chose the nickname is b/c I think Alex is just wayyy too popular. I suggested we "change" the formal nickname (he's only a few months- and it's not like we're changing his actual name!). Not sure if we even should, or what I like the most. I LOVE the name alexander b/c it's a strong name, but we really need to agree on something shorter. I just realized that Alec Baldwin's real name was Alexander. So...what's your favorite??? Any other nicknames?
ETA: DH doesn't love Zander b/c he thinks that that name should be spelled w/an X.

What about Sander with an S? Is that too weird? I've heard of some Alexanders being called Sandy, too.
If you love the name, keep it. DD is 20 months old and her nicknames have kinda run the gamut already. I mostly call her Megs, but have called her Meggles, and her cousins call her Meggie.

If we have a boy, his name will be Alexander, and it will be Alex for short.
Who knows what we'll really be calling him, i'm sure that'll just come come naturally.

I would use Alex but if you're against it my second choice would be Alec. I definitely don't think it's too soon to change a nickname.
