Which lens would you bring on vacation?
I don't want to bring my huge camera case with me, so would you bring the slr with the 18-55 lens or the 55-200 lens?

Ugh, this is a tough call Stefanie. I'd personally bring both b/c you never know what kind of situation you'll be in.
If I HAD to choose just one, it would be the 18-55 b/c it's much more versatile, but you wouldn't have the zoom lens for the super-duper close-up!
Bring both!!!

I brought both. One time I brought the 55-200 and a point & shoot to use for close up stuff.

Re: Which lens would you bring on vacation?
For my last trip I took the 55-200 and my p&s. That pretty much covered everything.

Depends what you will do.
18-55: Lots of landscape and family in the landscape pics.
55-200: kids playing and you want to zoom in. Far away landscape that you want to zoom in, etc...

My 18-200 mm
Honestly, I got a camera backpack that is pretty small and holds my camera, lenses and flash. I would have to bring both with me!

Re: Which lens would you bring on vacation?
When we went away in Nov. I brought 18-55 (I actually posted the same question ). I was going back and forth for a while and the bag I had could only fit one lens. My main reason for taking it was because I didn't know how packed the resort was going to be and I didn't want to back up to far and be far from the kids (even if DH or my mom was there). It was also annoying to have to get so closes to the kids to get those up close shots though. There were really only a few times I said to myself that I should have brought the bigger lens.
