ind. mechanic. they work for themselves, so they are willing to negotiate on the price and can even get you used good parts to save you some, whereas the dealership goes by the book and the guy fixing your car is on a set income and could really care less about saving you money.. PLUS they will only replace parts with brand new ones.
Just my experience of course lol

Independent mechanic BUT the repairs could void your warranty (if you have one), especially since they aren't likely to use your car brand's parts (like Honda parts or Mercedes parts) exclusively.

definitely! unless you know someone at the dealer, an indep. mechanic will always be cheaper.
