Which cricut machine do you have?
Which model do you have? What else do you need to purchase to start using the machine? Does it come with a lot of designs and fonts or do you have to purchase more?

I have a Silhouette Cameo, not a Cricut, and you don't have to purchase fonts or designs. You can trace anything that is copy and pasted into the Design Software. The design software was like $30 on ebay. I love my Silhouette. The Cricut machines require the internet to cut everything from what I've read. Silhouette does not.

Is the Cameo user friendly? I am getting the cameo 3 for my bday next month. I have so many projects i want to do for gifts for family.

I think it is, but it has a learning curve. Youtube is a great resource for learning though

I have the cricut explore. I LOVE it. The software does include some fonts and images. But you can literally find anything on google and upload it. I have joined so many fb groups for it that I get free fonts all the time. Dafont is also a good site to DL from. I would get some good tools. Wedding tool, exact knife, scraper tool, a few mats, vinyl, htv, cardstock. Printer and ink. And a laptop that meets all requirements. I use it for everything. I make decorations, shirts with htv, signs with vinyl. I never had an issue using/learning it. You tube is a great resource when I come across an issue.
I would get the maker if I was getting one now. Newest model out and seems a bit faster and cuts more. But if $ is an issue I’d get the explore air 2

Thanks! What's a printer and ink for?

If you want to print and cut, you have to use your printer to print the items, then feed them into your machine to cut. I use that for things like circles for cupcake toppers, banners, etc.
