I would say it depends on your car and what is most compatible with it. I did a search online for carseat compatability and found a website that tells you the recommended carseats for each car.

I did alot of research on convertible car seats & in the end we ended up with the Britax Marathon.
This one also came highly recommended by 6 of my mommy friends.

I registered for the marathon, its was rated great for my car.

i love my marathon, but in my minivan. when i had my passat it was annoying while rear facing to the front passenger. the fit and the car type makes all the difference! BTW, DH loves his Diplomat in his SUV.

We got a marathon for my car, a 4-door sedan, and the roundabout for my husband's 2-door convertible.

We have the roundabout for my DH's mazda 3 hatchback. Fits great! I have the Graco myride65 in my car and love that one too (i have a jeep liberty).

For anyone wanting a Britax, they are releasing updated seats soon and from the descriptions I've read they look like they're going to be great. I'd wait to choose one until they're released. JMVVVVVHO

if going with a Britax I'd get the Boulevard...I like the side impact protection on that seat.
