Where to take an 11 year old in the city
I want to take my 11 year old SD into Manhattan for the day.
She's into fashion but I don't want shopping to be the main attraction because we could do that locally. However, I'm not opposed to a good NYC street fair.
I was thinking maybe the fashion museum at FIT then Planet Hollywood for lunch (she is also into movies) but I wanted to get other ideas too.

Soho is fun. There are some great places to eat because you are close to the village. You could walk the highline and then head over there for lunch and hit up some of the amazing stores there. I am sure she would love the kardashian store.

You should take her to ellen 's stardust diner to eat or serendipity (but make reservations). An 11 year old would love those places.

Isn't there an American Girl doll store in the city? Would she like that? I think there are lots of clothes to dress up the dolls.

Why don't you try something like an amateur designer market? That way you can see the city and see fashion (without buying a lot).

Fit museum is cute but very small and you also have to make sure that there is an exhibit going on at the time.
