I have had luck at both Roosevelt Field and Walt Whitman. Broadway always seemed a little picked over.

Hicksville - I find they have good inventory and the store is on the big side.
If you don't mind buying last years styles, I love the outlet at the Source. It's big and easy to navigate. I find most of their stores narrow and a PITA especially if you have a stroller with you.
When I visit my grandma I try to go to the one in Atlas Park in Queens - again, it's a bigger store and not narrow. I also find the most clearance items there.
Even though I go there often since it's close to work, I really dislike the one at Walt Whitman.

FYI - Broadway Mall Gymboree is going out of business. I was there a couple of weeks ago right after they got the call. They are doing gymbucks and then they are shutting down.

Roosevelt Field is considered a "Tier 1" store so they get ALL the lines and pieces in the lines (except internet only stuff). Walt Whitman is "Tier 2" so they get more than some other stores but not as much as Roosevelt Field. I usually shop at Smithaven and have never had trouble finding the size I needed, but they have often not had the item I wanted b/c they are Tier 3 and just didn't get it. Once Walt Whitman had what I wanted but twice, only Roosevelt Field had it (I opted to order online) rather than drive all the say there for an outfit.
