Where is a good place to go about 1-2 outside of the city to see fall foliage?

Where is a good place to go about 1-2 outside of the city to see fall foliage?
We want to take DD upstate to see some nice foliage - maybe go to a farm, ride horses.... anything that's an hour or two outside of the city?

Just go up Route 9 along the east side of the Hudson River and you can stop in Poughkeepsie (sp?), Fishkill, Tarrytown, etc and see beautiful views, farms, etc. You just have to cross the Throgs Neck Bridge and follow routes north!

CT has the wine trail...and the way up (I forget the exact road) there is a beautiful road that has lovely foliage
