When your sick ...? and are earaches contagious?

I have been having ear aches lately and today is the worst, I will probably have someone watch DS tomorrow so that I can see a doctor. I really feel like crap, no fever though, thankfully.

So I'm feeling guilty I actually sat DS by the TV (he loves soaps and smiles at anyone who smiles on TV) so I could lie down for a bit. What do you do, I can't hold him for too long, since I've been getting dizzy spells, I think attributed to ear ache. I put him to play by himself, he's good about it for a while, but he's teething bad hiself. I don't know what else to do, any advice when your a sick mommy?

Also afraid I'll somehow pass it on to DS. How did I even get an ear infection?

I've had many days like that, I have vertigo.

Don't feel bad about staying home and letting the baby watch TV. You do what you have to do.

Ear infections are not contagious most of the time.

No home remedies, just get to the doctor quickly.

ITA- no home remedies. If you suspect ear infection- need antibiotics asap.

Dont believe ear infections are contagious.

I was sick with a terrible cold when DD was 3 months old. I did my best not to breathe on her..still had to care for her so you do what you can.

There was only one time in the past year that I was REALLY sick and couldn't take care of DS. DH worked from home that day. Otherwise, the TV is your best friend I had a sinus infection a few weeks ago and was feeling really rough. I would take DS to the park and sit on a blanket and let him roam around a bit. There isn't too much damage he could do and the fresh air was good for both of us.
