 | When your DC was 2 months how did you get him/her to go to sleep at night??? TIA!!
ETA: She sleeps at night, but what process did/do you use. i.e., rocking, just putting in crib, etc.

 | Re: When your DC was 2 months how did you get him/her to go to sleep at night??? try to get in a routine and make it bright all day and very dim lighting at night. it seemed to work for us. After her last bottle i sit with her for a few minutes on my lap (with the lights on VERY low) and then put her in the crib while she is still awake.
the dr said he recommended not putting her down already asleep b/c they become dependant on u holding them until they fall asleep and u will have to keep doing it.

all this starting working at around 2 months. GOOD LUCK!!!

 | Re: When your DC was 2 months how did you get him/her to go to sleep at night??? I only ask because she seems like she needs to be rocked until she falls asleep. I dont want her to get in the habit of it but she likes to be held and when i put her down to sleep she will fuss and cry.
CIO is to soon for her now. Plus, I cant stand the sound of her crying i feel horrible.

We used to rock DS, and I used to worry about him getting into a bad habit of needing us to rock him. Well he is 9 months now and never lets me rock him and I miss it!

So I say rock her for now and don't worry, she will grow out of it.

 | Re: When your DC was 2 months how did you get him/her to go to sleep at night??? I would rub her belly or stroke her hair. Other times I kind of "rock" her while she's lying in the crib...put my hand on her belly and "shake" her lightly. It worked.
The only time I ever really rock her to sleep outside of the crib is when she's sick.

not wierd. I do the same and he also likes the top of his head rubbed.
I think lighting has a big thing to do with it too. Before I bring Bryan into the room, I make sure the lamp is on or the tv..not the big light.
Sometimes I can just lay him down and he will "coo" himself to sleep.

 | Re: When your DC was 2 months how did you get him/her to go to sleep at night??? DD had to be rocked to sleep at that age also....I worried like you do that it was becoming a habit ---but gradually, as she got older she just stopped needing the rocking and went to sleep on her own. She is 10 mths now and never needs to sleep. I wouldnt worry about it becoming a problem in the future. A lot of young babies need that to go to sleep the first few mths,
 good luck!!
