how did his or her feeding schedule change? DD has been sleeping through the night since Tuesday, but DH and I are staying up later than normal to do a "dream feed" so she stays asleep. She's been drinking 36 oz. a day for about 2 weeks, now in a smaller time frame. Should we just keep doing what we're doing?

BTW, she'll be 9 weeks tomorrow.

Re: When your DC started STTN

it's the # of ounces in a day, not when she gets them. dream feeding works for a lot of people, but i can't comment on it because i never tried it. if you think she can handle it, you can add an extra ounce to each of her daytime bottles to get rid of the dream feed bottle (if that's what you are looking to do). if not, keep doing what you're doing. i would absolutely stay up later if it meant sleeping a solid block of hours Chat Icon

ETA: i never answered for us. he was sleeping through the night at 8 weeks when he was still BF so i can't answer for the # of ounces, but i can tell you i did try and nurse him as close to bedtime as possible.

Thanks. I did know it's the number of ounces, but I don't know if her tiny belly could handle 7 oz. in a shot. I figure 35 & 36 oz. isn't too much of a difference, and if we could get it down to 5 feedings, that would be great. But if not, I'll deal.

When my daughter was 8 weeks she started STTN form 10pm to 9am. Once she woke up she was eating 5-6oz. every 3-4hrs. At 4 months she started sleeping from 7pm to 7am and at that point she would have a 6oz. bottle at 7am, 11am, 3-3:30pm, and her last bottle at 7pm. She also started cereal and stage 1 fruits and veggies at 4 months old.

I'm BFing, but once DS started sleeping through the night, I definitely found that he wanted to eat more frequently.
