When your baby started rolling over....

Did he or she seem to be compelled to roll onto his/her belly all.the.time? And get stuck like that, scream and cry for help, then immediately roll back onto their belly right after you helped them get back onto their back? DS does this all day and in the middle of the night too. He doesn't like being on his belly at all. Yet he constantly rolls on to his belly, face plants the floor screaming til I roll him back over and then the second he's on his back he flips right back on to his belly. Repeat over and over and over until I give up and just carry him or wear him or strap him into his bouncy seat so he can't roll. I get that he's practicing. I just think it's a little strange since he seems to hate being on his belly so much, yet keeps rolling on to it. How long can I expect this phase to last?

My youngest just stopped doing that.. she will be 7 in a few months

Kidding but i feel like my oldest got stuck longer then my youngest. My youngest was like a spring hated being on her back. She'd flip right to her side. Our ped didn't believe us until he saw it for himself.

My DS went through this phase and it only lasted about a week. Then he was able to roll himself back and now he loves sleeping on his belly.

Normal. He'll learn to roll both ways soon enough.
