Thats pretty much it - i know my pediatrician has a night once every 2 weeks where he will meet with any potential new patients and talk to them, so the receptionist told me when that was and we picked one to go to.

Tell them you're pregnant and trying to find a pediatrician for when you're baby's born. Like PP said, a lot of them have special hours set aside specifically to talk to expecting parents.
