True love doesn't end with happily ever after...

When you bring your car in to be serviced?

what is a reasonable timeframe to hear back from the service dept about your car?

my car was towed in there last weds, and I was told that they would try to look at it last week, but I didnt have a definite appt until this tuesday. Fine. Well, this morning I call up because I have heard nothing from them, and the girl told me she is going to find out the status and get back to me (I called around 8).

I just called again at 5, and the girl who I spoke with (Nicole, who I was told was the service analyst) went home and the one I was speaking to was just a receptionist, and had no info. I asked to talk to Nicoles superior, to find out that they are on vacation. Then the girl said sorry but we are closing now. I asked what time they close and she said 530--so really she had another 30 minutes.

I then ask to talk to the mechanic working on my car, but they leave at 4. I ask her if there is anyone that I can speak to besides her and she said no. Then I asked for her name. She told me her name, and then said well Tom is here, he is another service analyst but he has 5 people waiting to talk to him (I wonder whyChat Icon ) and that he can't talk to me. I said that Tom must call me back tonight, and she said that he might be able to let me know whats going on if my mechanic is still there (I guess they are working overtimeChat Icon ) I am ready to freak out----am I right to feel this way?

And this is why I avoid dealers like the plague....I take my car to my mechanic and it's done by the end of the day.

Re: When you bring your car in to be serviced?

I never had this problem with my current dealer as of matter of fact after I bought my car to 2 different Pontiac dealers they were the ones who found the issue and fixed it within 2 days. I feel you with the issues I had the other 2 dealers they had my car for a week at a time with no success.

I feel they should have it for atleast 2 days if it is a starting issue and tell you by the end of the first day so they can have another day to fix it. They should have let you know that they could not look at it right away and ask what you would like to do. That is rude of them. If I was you I would ask to take it elsewhere.

I have never had an issue with my dealership

I always get a loaner car- so it really doesn't matter how long they take- as long as they do the job right

I would be so mad- I would call first thing in the morning and ask for the manager
