When will your DC start school?
I'm confused. if your child is born in let's say October/November, when will they be start Kindergarten?

My DS started Kindergarten this past Sept and he turned 5 in October. They do offer you the option of keeping them over till the following year if you feel they aren't ready.

My son will turn 5 in the middle of October and here in Ohio the cutoff is Sept 30 for kindergarten. But if your child was born anywhere between Oct and Dec you can test them in to Kindergarten for that school year. I will be doing that since Jack has been in preschool since age 2 so I cant imagine him being almost 6 before he goes to Kindergarten.

I was born in November and started Kindergarten when I was 4. Same thing for my brothers who were born in Sept and Nov. My mom had the option to hold us all back but she said we were all very ready for school. I can't tell you how many times people asked me if I skipped a grade when I was in college b/c I was only 17
ETA: DD was born in August so she will start kindergarten in 2012-It is too crazy to even think about at this point!

4 years old that September. come Oct/Nov they will turn 5.
If they are born after Dec 1st then they have to wait until they are 5.

Each school district has different cutoffs. The district I live in is Dec. 31 but the one I work for in Dec.1. DS was born Nov.30 and I'd like to put him in when he about to turn 5 (if I feel he's ready)
