When was your first Dr appt?
My first appt isint until the first week in Feb. They said this will be around the 8th week mark. Is this normal? What do they do at the first appt? Can my DH come in with me?

That is normal. I know my DH comes with me for every visit. The first visit though, I got an internal exam & a pap smear, so you might want to warn DH about that.
The only reason I went before 8w is because I was bleeding.

Mine will be at the same time. My dr.'s office does not see you earlier unless you had a prior miscarraige or are having problems.

I was 6 weeks at my first appointment, but I had 2 m/c's prior.

I got a BFP on 8/9/05 and went to the doc for my first appointment at 8/29/05. I was about 6.5 weeks then.

I went at 6w2d. They took weight, height, blood pressure, asked about detailed medical history. Did a breast exam, listened to my heart and lungs, did an internal exam, pap and another culture. Took several viles of blood. Did a sonogram, we got to see the heartbeat. DH was with me.
I go back at 8 weeks for all the results and another sonogram. Can't wait to see the peanut again.
