When visiting/touring childcare centers...
Did you bring your DC with you?

Re: When visiting/touring childcare centers...
sort of... he was in my belly at the time so does that count
When we moved to NJ though I already new which center he'd go to immediatly b/c it was one I used to work at back in the day when I was in college. Also, his cousin is the kindergarten teacher there.
When I went to sign the papers and give my first week pay I brought him and he had fun playing in the classroom where he'd be

DH and I went to the center when DD was teeny tiny so she came with us. Then we switched to in-home right before she turned 1 and we brought her then, too.
Good luck!

No but We are visiting one today. I'm picking him up from daycare and going straight to a center. If Dh wasn't working I would have gone alone.

I had to--I was a SAHM at the time, so he needed to come with me. But regardless, I think it's good for them to see the place and for you to see how your child is received by the staff.

Re: When visiting/touring childcare centers...
If I had the choice, I'd visit them each twice -- once by myself/with DH so I could ask all the qeustions I wanted without DC asking questions/pulling on us. Then visit again with DC to see how they feel about the place....
FTR, when I visited them, I was PG with #1 so technically he came with me.

Re: When visiting/touring childcare centers...
YES! DS was 6 months old and the reaction of the teachers at different places really helped us make our decision. The one teacher immediately included him in the circle of babies.... Other teachers at other places basically ignored his presence. It said a lot.
