When to switch to a high back booster?
My dds are 6 and 7.5...they are about the same weight and heights (41 pounds, 47 inches, and 45 pounds, 45 inches)...when can I move them to a high back booster? They are both still harnessed in the grace nautilus...I know they max out of the nautilus harness at 65 pounds and 49 inches, and I'm sure the height max will come first. Should I weight until they max out or switch them sooner? My almost 8 year old is begging for a high back booster and she has been the only child she knows in a harness since Pre-K...honestly I don't care what she thinks about it, and we just tell her its about safety, but I also want to let her grow up if its time.

Check out this link
It's great that they've been harnessed for as long as they have been!

It's great that you're doing what's best for their safety! If the harnesses are coming from below their shoulders in the Nautilus then they have outgrown it regardless of the standing height or weight limit. I would feel comfortable boostering them in the high back mode.

Re: When to switch to a high back booster?
They both fit safely still, but I think I am going to move my older dd to the high back booster...I guess it's time to accept she is growing up!
One last question: I can use the LATCH to keep the seat in position when she isn't buckled in, right? I believe I read that I could since it isn't restraining, it's only keeping the seat from flying around in case of an accident when unoccupied.

Yes, Graco allows the Nautilus to be latched and tethered when used in booster mode

My DD is 40 lbs & 48 inches. Her 5 point harness seat goes up to 70 lbs and 54 inches. She is 7. She is not moving to any type of booster any time soon.

Thanks, but I can't see buying a higher weight/height seat for a few more months...if they fit, they'd certainly use the seat longer, but we're getting to the top of our limits and my older dd did meet the requirements for a high back booster, so we'll make the move.
