When to start stage 2 foods?

The Stage 1 foods don't seem to cut it for Connor. They seem to watery for him. When can he start stage 2 jar foods? They have a thicker consistency. Thanks!

He is only 4 and a half months right?? Why not make some of your own purees that have mixes of veggies in them. Noah used to love a puree that i made with spinich, potatoes, and leeks. I have some puree recipes I will whizz over to you (if I can find them!!) Stage 2's can be chunky can't they???

I have been giving Jiavana stage 2 foods (5mths) and I haven't noticed the gerber ones to be chunky. They are just thicker. She seems to like them better. I haven't given her every stage 2, since I make a lot of my own but I do also use jarred.

Have you tried mixing in cereal with the stage 1's...I did that to thicken it up.

I always thought stage 1 and 2 were the same except the size of the jar (and of course more choice with stage 2)

Whats the point then? Why not just call them Stage 1 size 1 and Stage 1 Size 2....

Here they just go by 7 months and above, 10 months and above etc...no stages on them
