When to do a pregnancy test?

Good afternoon all (melbourne australia time).
My wife is in her 10 DPO. At 6DPO we think she may have had some implantation spotting.
I've purchased the discovery onestep in stream pregancy test(claims it can detect pregnancy as early as 5 days before period is due).We tested today and it came up negative.
Was this too early to do a pregancy test and if so when would you test again??

Yes, it could be too early. I would test the day she is due for her period. Good luck!!!!!
