When should party invites go out?
I am planning on having DD's birthday party on Sunday may 17. When would i send out invites? Thanks.

I'm a fan of early notice.
May is a crowded month: Mother's Day, Memorial Day.
All other events/parties will be put into other weekends.
I'd send them out now (as I'm already scheduled for May).

I always send out invites super early because I like to have things planned out. I would say between now and the first week in April.

i am planning a May party too (end May though) and was going to send them out 5 weeks ahead of time
Just wondering...how far in advance do you put the RSVP date - two weeks?

When should party invites go out?
I would send them 4-6 weeks - earlier if possible since it's communion season. Make the RSVP at least 2 weeks before. This way you have a week to find the unresponsive and a week to prepare for the final count (favors, order or make food)

a month - IMO a communion or major family event will still trump a classmates' brithday party invitation - even if I received and RSVP'd 2 months prior.
I set the RSVP for a week before.

Completely agree. I would never skip my own family's fun functions to attend a classmates party. No matter which invite I got first
