When picking paint....
do you pick the color first then the furniture, bedding, etc or vice versa??

you are supposed to pick furniture and fabrics first, since it's easier to find a paint to match than vice versa. But there's nothing wrong with having a paint color in mind when furniture shopping.

When designing a room from scratch, I try to start with the items that have the least amount of color options, and add the items that have more color choices. I would usually do paint last, since you can have essentially an infinate number of color choices (the human eye can differentiate about 2 million, so that's the technical limit, but that's close enough to infinite for me...  )
