When is the growth sono usually given?

And, how accurate is it really?

Mine is at 32w but I've heard as late as 36w. The accuracy is supposed to be within less than a pound either way but there are plenty of women that will tell you otherwise. I have to believe they're generally fairly accurate or insurance wouldn't pay for it (JMO).

I got my first one at 28 weeks, then another at 34 weeks....but I dont think everyone gets them....not sure how accurate they are though----Ill let you know in a month!

I got one at almost 28 weeks and I wasn't told about getting another one any time soon.

Thanks everyone. I'm just curious because I never had one with DS (he's almost two years old). I'm almost 28 weeks pregnant and I'm with a new practice and we haven't discussed scheduling one. I don't really care about the estimation, I just want to see the baby and know that everything is going well.

My dr's office does mine at 36 weeks. I haven't had it yet, nor the baby, so I'm not sure how accurate it will be.

I had one at 32 weeks but I had to ask for it. They werent even going to do it. She said that since i didnt gain a ton of weight and i don't look that big that it wasnt even necessary. She said she would only insist on it if it looked like the baby was going to be large and I might need a C section.

Was at the OB today, she said between 34 & 36 weeks- I'm having a growth sono in 2 wks (I'll be 30wks) due to fibroids, she wants me to have another @34-36.
