I have heard people say highlights are fine. Bc they don't touch your scalp but I'm going to wait until 2nd trimester.

I asked my doctor about coloring and highlights and he said, "There are 3 doctors here. If you ask each one you're going to get a different answer." Rule of thumb, you can return to your normal pre-pregnancy activities (within reason) during your 2nd trimester.
Lets just say, i'm glad that the ombre look is in style now because my hair looks like a hot mess!

when is it safe
anytime you want. I colored my hair the entire time. Started at about 6 weeks. I never delayed it. Just kept going every 8 weeks

My dr said to wait until after the 1st trimester and try to get an early appt so I don't sit in the fumes of the salon for hours when it's towards the end of the day. She also said that highlights aren't that bad because they don't touch the scalp. I remember waiting and watching my roots get worse and worse...but I would rather be safe...
