When is it okay to give honey?
At DD's 9 months appointment honey was the one thing I was told not to give. Ever since, I keep forgetting to ask when it is okay. What did your ped recommend?

just fyi, its not for allergy reasons
its because honey has potentially harmful microbes in it, and baby digestive systems can't break them down the way adult digestive systems can.
They believe at 1, the digestive system is developed enough.

Interesting. I never thought to check the bottle. My ped said it was because of the risk for botulism. Hopefully I'll remember to ask this time.

I know for raw honey it is after 1. I don't know about processed honey.

After 1 year old. And just so you know, cooking honey doesn't destroy the microbes that are dangerous to babies so you can't give baked goods, breads, etc. with honey to babies either.
