When is it okay for BF babies to sleep longer stretches?
Aaron will be 4 weeks tomorrow. Trying to remember when BF babies can sleep longer stretches and not be concerned about waking them up to eat.
He is still pretty much eating every 3 hrs, sometimes he goes 4 hrs.

We were allowed to feed on demand once DD was heavier than her birth weight.

I agree! If weight gain isn't an issue...feed on demand! I wish I wasn't so paranoid with dd's weight when she was born...I woke her up every 2-3 hours the first two weeks...all she wanted to do was sleep....and she was the chunkiest baby ever!!!

That's what my ped. told me too, but DS was higher than his birth weight when he left the hospital so maybe that's why. Hope Aa is doing well!!!! And you are getting some sleep!

My ped told me never to wake him to eat. He usually wakes up every 3-5 hours to eat anyway. Enjoy the quiet time!

same here and when we left the hospital he was less than his birth weight- now he's giant lol

As long as DC doesn't have any weight issues, I would let DC set the schedule and feed on demand.

I let DD go about 4 hours during the day and as long as she wanted at night, almost right away

I actually did get some sleep today and feel better. I started walking on the treadmill and that is helping to, since I am stuck in the house.
Thanks Ladies. I wasn't waking him to eat, he wakes up on his own, I guess I am hoping he will sleep longer stretches soon, LOL! He is gaining weight, we go to the Dr on Wed and I think he has gained at least a pound.
