When giving gifts
When you give a gift do you worry about how much you paid for it?
I got a few gifts on sale for a ridiculous good price and yet I feel guilty giving just that because I didn't pay full price and I feel like I have to give more because of it.
Am I being dumb do you worry about what you pay or just give the gift you got even if you saved tons of money on it?/!!

Yes! I feel the same way. Even though I got a good deal I still feel bad, like if the person tries to return it and sees how much I really paid

When giving gifts
If I have an amount in mind to spend, I spend about that much. If I get a great deal, then the person gets more.

When giving gifts
Yes I always feel guilty and depending on the person I will buy something extra to go with it.

Re: When giving gifts
This is for classmates party though I could probably use it for my nephew for birthday or xmas ... People tell me they would just give it and not worry about how much it was

When giving gifts
I think in it would depend on who is for ands what I spent. For a class mate, if I spent under $10 I'd probably add something little. Over that, I might just give it and call it a day.

Re: When giving gifts
No.. and you know why? Because the person who gets the gift (or their parent) is not sitting there adding up the $ amount they think you did or did not spend on it. They don't know that info, only you do. They're thinking.. hey, cool, i got a blah blah from my friend so and so thats it!
and if anything, if you buy more for that person out of guilt of getting something on sale.. all you're doing is then making that person (or their parent) potentially feel guilty because they think you spent MORE than you really did.. and then if they get invited to a party for your kid, or have to get you a gift, they're going to be guilted into spending more because of it!
So stop the never ending cycle and be happy you scored a good deal!

So, I answered the other way already, but I was thinking more of our secret santa. We have a price range and I try to get as much of the wish list as possible by finding good prices.
I really wouldn't care what my DD's classmates spent on her gifts.

Re: When giving gifts
I make sure what I get for someone is a nice gift that they will like. I never try to meet a specific dollar amount because I'm a very savvy shopper who gets great deals between sales, coupons, cash back, etc. I've given gifts that should've cost WAY more than I spent but so what?? The gift is just as a nice and I saved money. Win win.
ETA - I NEVER try to figure out what someone has spent on gifts to me, my DH, or kids. So I would assume that when I am the gift giver, people are more concerned with the gift I got and how much they like it over what specific dollar amount I spent on it. Honestly, I get such incredible deals online sometimes that I would look absolutely ridiculous if I bought to a budget. I would end up giving like 10 gifts to people sometimes!! It's NOT the amount of money you spent, it's the thought and what you actually got them that matters. If it's something they will love, who cares if you spent $10 or $50.

Re: When giving gifts
For nieces and nephews, yes they would get more if the item was on sale or I had a good coupon. For classmates or other casual relationships, I would just get the one item regardless of the sale.
