When feeding your baby solid foods for the first time...
what do you do if your baby doesn't like something?
DS wasn't crazy about squash... doesn't seem to like peas... and is questionable on spinach.
I try each food for about 3 days, but after a meal of him not seeming to like something, I feel bad giving it to him again.
BUT then the other thought that goes through my mind is that he has to eat and learn to like/tolerate his veggies. But, as I pack his cooler bag, I feel so bad for giving him what he didn't seem to like.
Do you stop feeding him the foods he doesn't seem to like? Or do you continue giving it to him? He does love some veggies, like carrots and sweet potatoes... should I quit the ones he doesn't like and just give him the ones he does?
Of course, he loves all the fruits I give him... it's the darn veggies.

I would continue for a bit so DC can develop a taste for it. It has happened that DC didnt like something initially and then grew to love it. You want to try to expose to as many different kinds of food as appropriate.

Keep giving them if he's not down right refusing them. They say it can take 10 times to Ty something before babies like it. All the different veggies offer different vitamins and stuff so I wouldn't give up yet. He's still little. Wait until he starts throwing it at you to stop ( like my dd at 21 months hahahaha)

If DS wouldn't eat it, I'd usually mix it with something that I knew he would eat. The ones he mainly refused were green vegetables. He liked all different kinds of squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc so at least he was eating some vegetables. I'd mix some of the green veggies with carrots or something else and then he was more willing to eat them.

ITA! Many parents give up after DC doesn't seem to like something the first few times. It takes them time to acquire a taste. Don't give up!

Definitely agree with this. I read about how it takes a child 10 times of trying something before they can really decide if they like it or not. My boys were very questionable with Avocado the first few times, but I really wanted them to like it especially because it is high in healthy fat and my 3 are still underweight. Then I read about that 10 times thing and now they LOVE IT. It is one of their favorite foods.

Re: When feeding your baby solid foods for the first time...
are you making your own foods? it might be the textures that he doesn't like, especially if he does like sweet potato and carrots which blend very creamy and smooth. i found my DD likes every single thing we have ever given her. the only thing she had trouble with was avocado, more from the texture than the taste. at first she was ok with it but then after a few tries she started gagging when i would give it to her. when i pureed it finer instead of mashing she loved it. so make sure that the textures of the foods are very smooth at first. and like the PPs said it does take time so maybe try giving him the same food for longer periods, maybe 7-10 days before switching.
