ok has anyone NOT had pain from this? I was crying, the nurse shoved her fingers and pushed SO hard, I was hysterical crying. There has to be a better way.. why dont they just do an internal sonogram for this!? I just dont get it..Chat Icon

I can't remember with my son it was so long ago. But I do remember having the internal at 38 weeks and getting up and bleeding and being petrified. But 2 days later I had DS!

It is definititly uncomfortable but once you are in labor it doesn't feel as bad.

I didn't have any discomfort with my first but with my second I did. I actually had cramping and thought I was in labor around 37 weeks with DD.

For me the most painful was when the nurse/doc inserted the medicine for my induction. It hurt so much I started to cry. They told me if I was in pain now, wait until labor! Well lucky for me I ended up having a c-section.

Are you sure you're ready for labor? J/king... Maybe ask them to be a little more gentle, let them know your last internal really hurt.
