When do you usually do your holiday pictures?

I'm trying to figure out timing here. I'm a FTWM so I have to do it on the weekends, which I'm assuming gets packed (as we get closer to the holidays). When do you usually schedule your holiday photos? My concern is I'll buy DS an outfit, do the pictures, and then it won't fit him come Christmas! I'd also like to get my cards out early Dec. Is October too early for Christmas pictures?

Personally, no, I don't think it's too early if you were to do them towards the end of October especially because you have to have a weekend appointment (be sure to schedule the earliest possible one they have so you're more likely to be on time) the only problem you might run into is the stores may not have the holiday backgrounds yet. With Hanukkah so early this year they should though. You can always call and ask if they know when they will!!

We are doing them nov 23 and I feel like it is too late... so I don't think Oct is too soon!

the past two years I have always done them in November. The first year was the end of November and last year was the beginning. I am going to plan for November again.

That's not too late. I have mine scheduled for November 2nd which should work out great timing wise. last year I did them later in November and it was tight getting them out before Christmas.

I usually do the first week in November.. I do DS's birthday and Christmas at the same time..

I am doing them mid November. By the time pics come in, cards are ordered it won't seem early enough!

Last year I went the weekend after Thanksgiving and it worked out perfectly. I went to JCP and they had a special if you did pics in November. So I got the November deal but it didn't feel too early. Plus Santa was at the mall already and NOBODY was there. No line, got to take our time with pics. I plan on doing the same this year.

I do them early Nov so everything is ready for TG weekend. I didn't use their dresses last year and probably wont this year either. Not for size but I just want something different.

I forgot about Hanukkah and I have no clue what to do now. I usually do a 2 sided card. Unless I do both early nov and have it all ready to send black Friday so it gets to people during Hanukkah.

I shoot my own and usually do them the week before Thanksgiving. I edit them that same weekend and order my cards so that they can be sent out the first week of Dec.

As they get older, I think doing them in Oct or early Nov is fine. When they are infants, I think you should do it closer to the holiday since they can change so much in just a few weeks.

I just booked mine for the first appt on nov 23. Doing Christmas and first birthday together.

crashing....where does everyone go for pics for the holidays? This is our first year doing christmas cards with DD.

Usually November. This year I think I'm doing them at the very end of October just because I'm also doing a family shoot at that time and want to bang out both to save time.

november....i try to go on a weekday if i can get out of work, the weekends are insane!
