When do you think home prices will go up?
Sorry, messed up poll with last one 
Even though I think we will be a bit biased since most on this board already own a home or are in the process of buying one....
When do you think we will hit the bottom and start to see increases? Just curious.

My dh just spoke to the ceo of Remax and he said that it won't be until atleast 2011 that prices will climb back up a bit but that they will never get to where they were a few years ago

i think you will start to see things climb a bit late next year. But its not a jump just a slight climb. I think really 2011 is where you will see it fully stabilize - but some areas will rebound quicker then others.

of course prices will eventually go back up to 2004/2005 levels - inflation if not anything else!
I think 2011, but of course it depends on the area. We really haven't seen the large decreases like FL, AZ, etc. Those places will take a while to recover.

prices are starting to stabilize here in the DC area. we were lucky. our realtor told us that they are starting to see bidding wars again in the district!

Palm Beach County's median price in December 2008 was $246,000, off 42 percent from its $421,500 peak. Broward's December median was $217,700, a 44 percent drop from its peak of $391,100.
That was from an article from the Sun-Sentinel. But I am sure there are towns in that county that haven't seen those decreases. Nassau has had a price decrease - but im sure there are towns that are still holding - its very localized!
