when do you order furniture?

after hearing some nightmare stories about it taking so long i'm wondering if we should order now!
What do you think?

I am 20 weeks and ordered the crib last week bc they told me it would take 4-5 months (Fortunoff).

I plan on doing this next weekend or thereabouts. I don't want to run into any problems.

I am 23 weeks and my parents ordered the furnitures when I was 20 weeks.

I ordered at 18 weeks. All of the techs were telling us it was a boy before the Level 2. The guy at Behr's said that if it was a girl and I needed to change the furniture he could cancel the order (no charge) and place one for the girls furniture.

I wanted to get it ordered because I wanted to have it in my house by my shower which was when I was 32 weeks.

It really depends on what you are ordering and where you are ordering it from. A place like BRU and BBB is generally quicker than someplace like Behrs. Of course it also depends on if BRU or BBB has the items in stock or on backorder.

I got a Pali crib and dresser which Behr's told us 3-4 months tops to get. We ordered our furniture end of January and since we are moving we wanted the furniture sooner (now that she is coming earlier we want it ASAP). I was told that the dresser has been in but the crib will probably be another 2-4 weeks at the earliest. My EDD is 6/30 but we told Behrs we wanted the furniture by the end of May.

I am due the same day as you Karen ( although I will be going early) and we are hopefully going to order it this weekend or by next week.

We ordered it from BBB on February 20th and it is arriving today - about 12 weeks later. They told us it could take anywhere from 8-14 weeks for delivery.

I ordered around 20-21 weeks. I got mine from BRU and had it within 7 days. I was not expecting it so quickly and that is why we ordered so early...but I am really glad we have it now!! :)
