When do they start injectables?
I'm currently getting 2 follies on monitoring day with femara. (23/24mm on CD10)
Is this ok or do they kick it into high gear at some point when you aren't getting a BFP with 2 follies?

Re: When do they start injectables?
2 follicles is actually pretty good!
It's all up to you and your doctor about when to start injectables, but it's not like you are going to aim for 6 follies once you do. Your doctor will probably want around 2-3 follies, sometimes 4. It's important to remember that with IUI, you can't control how many eggs fertilize so you do risk the chance of high-order multiples (which, while going through IF might not seem so bad, but the reality is that there are a lot of risks associated with it).
Hopefully you won't even need to go the injectable route! GOOD LUCK!

Re: When do they start injectables?
According to my doc, when I had 2-3 follies at 20 or 22 mm, that was "perfect". It probably depends on what your issue is and if they need to do more testing to see if there's any other issues.
eta as you probably know, when you introduce stims the risk of mutliples goes up which is not favorable in the medical/insurance world.

Re: When do they start injectables?
2 are awesome! Are you doing IUI as well?
My doc told me that injectables are hard to control and they may cancel cycles if you have too many follicles. She also said that if I wasn't getting a BFP with IUI after 3-4 cycles it may be a fertilization problem and would suggest going to IVF for max success.

This is what they suggested for me too. It may be that my tubes just arent propelling the eggs down but there is no way to tell. It's only been one IUI on the immune/clotting protocol so far.
We did 2 IUI without and 2 natural cycles as well. Each with at least 2 follies except one cycle there was a 40mm and a 18mm b/c I was on too much clomid.
Thanks ladies. I really dont want to add injectables since I know I respond to the femara. Hoping I don't have to.

Re: When do they start injectables?
I did 3 femara IUI's and made 1 egg, 2 eggs and 1 egg in that order.
Then my first (and only) injectible cycle I made 2 eggs, while they were so pleased I was sad, because I thought I'd make like 4 or 5. So I don't get what the difference with injectibles if you make the same amount of eggs roughly.

Re: When do they start injectables?
I used Femara when I was doing my cycle, I wasn't producing anything so he added Gonal and I finally produced 1 follie.. then we did the IUI with that 1 follie.. I wonder if I didn't use injectibles would I ever have produced any.

Re: When do they start injectables?
i'm not sure but if you are producing 2 follies a cycle it seems like that's a great number and you wouldn't need injectables. the only reason dr. b has me on injectables is because we are always trying to overstimulate so that i have follies on my left side. if you do have to add injectables, it only amounts to 4-5 extra injections which seems easy compared to the daily lovenox

Re: When do they start injectables?
As other posters said, 2 follies are pretty good. I was only producing 1 follie on clomid for 3 cycles and then moved onto Gonal, which gave me a ton...I'm still in the 2ww, I'll let you know how it worked.

Re: When do they start injectables?
I started one cycle just Femera and no trigger...fail
Then we went onto 2 cycles with Femera and ovidrel...Fail
Then we went onto 2 cycles with injectable, Femera and Ovidrel...Fail
I had 2-3 each time and the last cycle I had 5 follies! All ended in BFN
I think they say 2 is great! It all depends on the person, for me it didnt matter... I am hoping for you it is better!!
