When do infants typically sit themselves up?
Around when was your LO able to sit him or herself up?
I can't remember when my first did it...My little guy is 10 1/2 mo. & has been sitting unsupported since he turned 9 mo., but he can't get into a sitting position from his back or belly by himself yet. He butt shuffles rather than crawls & he gets mad when he wants to sit up, but not mad enough to even try doing it yet lol

Around 7 months she would go from a laying position to a sitting position. She also pulled to stand at 7 months and just started walking now at 9 months. My older dd was about the same age for all those things except walking. She walked at 10.5 months.

DS was sitting by himself by 5 months. He was pulling up and cruising at 6.

He sounds just like DD. She'll be 11 months next week and doesn't sit herself up. She's been sitting since just before 5 months but when she tries to sit up she get her head an inch or two up and then gives up. She doesn't crawl either and hasn't rolled over in months. She cruises all over but doesn't pull up on her own. Her ped said if she hasn't found a way to get around by 1 year we should try to get her pt. I assume that means getting to whatever position she needs to be in to move. I'm not in too much of a rush so I'm fine with giving her another month to see what she does.

DD is 9.5 mos and can't get up either. She does stomach crunches a lot so she's trying and can use things to pull herself up to a sit, but on her own - no dice.

DS is almost 7 months and can't sit himself up. I have to grab his hands to help him up. Also, he can sit up unassisted for a short period of time but when he leans one way he ends up falling... i think every baby is different.

Thanks everyone! I actually just searched my old posts & I posted a very similar question about my older son when he was 10 1/2 months old. lol I guess he's right on track when it comes to my kiddos!

That's how I feel too...my big guy was late with all of his walking/crawling/cruising milestones & now I just confirmed that he was late at sitting up too. He started walking on his own at I think 14 mo. & he hasn't slowed down since so I know the little guy will get there eventually too lol

I remember my DD wasn't able to sit herself up until she crawled which was after 9 months. She'd get start crawling and then she'd push up onto her tush.

She started sitting on her own at 6 months. Crawling and getting into sitting position on her own around 7.5 months.

My DD sat on her own at 5 months old. she loves it. but pulling herself up to a sitting position, she has been trying and trying since 6 months old. She just turned 7 months and still tries but only makes it about 85% there. If she is slightly elevated or has something to pull up on then she can pull to a seated position. She will just sit up for hours if I let her.
