when do I take the hospital tour? (esp Winthrop girls)

this has probably been asked 90 million times but I did a quick search & didnt see anything & frankly, this prego is too lazy to keep trying different word combinations! LOL

so when did you go/are you going for the hospital tour?

esp fellow winthrop ladies: do I have to call far in advance? has anyone taken any of the classes there? how much are they? any experience/advice is appreciated! TIA

I don't know about the tours but I can say that I had a heck of a time trying to register for any classes at Winthrop. It seems like scheduling works where you call, leave a message, and they call back... sometimes 4 days later, sometimes 2 weeks. If you are like me an happen to miss this call, then when you call back, you are routed back to leaving a message and starting the process over. After a month of trying to get someone on the phone, I ended up signing up to take classes through an affiliate group with a pediatrician we like. FM for details.

Btw, I think the classes were in the $75-125ish range depending on which class.

I took the hospital tour with DC#1 around 33 weeks.
The parent & childbirth classes can be scheduled though their Dept of Parent Education: 516-663-2858

I think I was about 30ish weeks when i took the tour there

As for classes, i called the number listed above, left a message and the person usually called me back within a day.
The classes were usually held at Destination Maternity (they have a room in the back) and ranged from all day, to spanning over several nights depending on what you chose.
