When do drop off play dates begin?
We have yet to do a drop off play date. I want to start though. DS is 5 and just started kindergarten. However, DS is at a new school and we are just getting to know families. I don't want to seem like a helicopter parent but I don't want to just drop off my 5yo at a person's house I don't know.

When do drop off play dates begin?
Depends
I drop AJ off at the neighbors and they've done a sleep over because well she's across the street. I don't think I'd be able to drop at other places. Mostly we just get together and let the kids run off into another area and play. We don't hover. *I* don't hover, but I am not yet at the drop level (she's 6)

When do drop off play dates begin?
We've done 2 with DS' friend from daycare at 4. And we've done some with DS 2 and his best friend too (but, we're close with the family).
If I didn't really know the parent, I would want to meet them first before doing a drop off play date.

When do drop off play dates begin?
Maybe im a bit overprotective or just not trusting, but unless i really know the family im not dropping off my child. Theres too many horror stories these days and too many nutjobs out there.

My son had his first drop-off play date this past summer..he was almost 6 going into 1st grade. I didn't know the parents so I brought him and stayed for about a half hour. I just didn't feel comfortable leaving him in a strangers house. After a half hour I was comfortable with her and heading out. I came back about a hour and half later.
