When did your OB (or RE) begin CD 3 testing?
My OB/Gyn has scheduled us for a post coital exam. Did anyone do a post coital before begining CD3 testing.
Any info would be appreciated.

Same.
My RE said it wouldn't be necessary since if there was a problem, we'd do IUI - and the plan was to do IUI anyway (if that makes sense!)
He basically said "we could spend the time figuring out if that's the issue.. or we can do the treatment that we'd do anyway if it was" (for that specific issue).

I had CD 3 testing the first AF I got after the consult appt. As for the post coital..it was never even mentioned and I wouldn't have had it done anyway. That was just one violation I was not going to allow happen!!

The PC exam is with my OB, he said there were a few tests we could run before he refered me to an RE.

What does CD3 testing determine? I had a PC done at the early stages of our testing. Also, why is it a violation? Thanks!

CD 3 = Cycle Day 3
We as a couple just felt like someone going in and swabbing after just having BD'd was too much. Bad enough all the other tests, but I figured IF there was an issue with my CM it's be bypassed by IUI anyway!

I had the post coital exam before my CD3 bloodwork because that's just the way it worked out with my cycle... So, the RE did the post coital almost immediately after my first appt. and then the following month on CD3 I had bloodwork done.

Oh, I understand. Yeah, it is a bit intrusive. I'm at the beginning stage of all this so I just recently had all these tests done. I'm starting Clomid this mth

It's funny but that was the one test where I just couldn't go. Guess we all have a threshold!!

I never had post-coital testing done, but that was only because I was going straight to IUI/IVF.
I think if issues are unclear, PC testing is a good idea.

I have had 2 PC tests. I believe it determines A) if there is sperm present and B) how it interacts with your mucus.
My 1st test showed there was some sperm but it didn't look active and my 2nd one didn't really show any sperm....needless to say we have MF issues......
I don't think when they do the test has anything to do with CD3 testing. It is just the timing of BDing. If I remember correctly we couldn't have relations 3 days before but no longer than 5.....don't quote me on that...but I think so.....

I just started CD testing last week at my first consult with RE. He said we would most likely have to do IVF so they wanted to monitor a natural cycle (and I scheduled the appointment on CD3)
