My older DD was about 14 months when we gave her shellfish (I was a bit naive and never even worried since she didn't have any allergies) and my younger DD was almost 2 years old and I did it at home because I wanted to be in control of the situation because she does have some allergies. She did fine with them, but isn't overly interested either, so she hasn't really had them since.

My ped told us to wait until DS was 2, but I will probably give it to him this summer when he's 20 months.....

15 months.
We went to see an allergist for a possible amoxicillin allergy and he asked why we hadn't tried shrimp yet.
He believes in the we are waiting too long and making more allergies school of thought.
I agree with him, so that weekend, we tried it.
