When did you tell family & freinds?

I am only 5 weeks PG. We are only going to tell our parents as of now. My doctor appt isn't until the end of October. Should I wait until after that or until December - the end of the 1st trimester?

It's really a personal preference. We told immediate family (parents and siblings) at 6 weeks, but we went through IVF and our families knew what was going on. Everyone else, we waited until 13 weeks.

i am 5 weeks tomorrow.

We have a very short list of people who know now...

We'll tell my parents and all others at Thanksgiving...(simply because of some issues with my mom).

I told Dave it's his call on when to tell his parents....as long as they are okay with not telling mine.

I am 5 weeks today - so what due date are you calculating? I've donw a few websites and get between June 10-12

I think its really a personal choice. My parents are not really the people I turn to in hard times so I tell a few close friends first and wait to tell family and the rest of the world until as close to 12 weeks as I possibly can. This time around I had a mc at 5 weeks and was glad I only told who I told.

I'm 8 weeks now... planning on telling my family a little after my 12 week appt then the rest of the family and friends a week or so after (probably around Thanksgiving)

My mom made me promise not to wait when we knew the 2nd time around. So I told the whole family together.

With DS, we told both sets of parents and our siblings right away and planned on telling other people after the 1st trimester, ar atleast the first appointment. Well that went out the window. My MIL told the entire family within 2 days. And DH got drunk and told all of his friends about 2 weeks later. This time around we will probably tell my parents right away and hold off on telling my ILs until after the first appointment, or until I'm ready for the whole world to know.

We told our immediate family (parents, siblings) at about 5 or 6 weeks. We couldn't wait! I told my BFF the day I tested. I told most people around the 12 week mark.

It all depends on how you and dh feel.

I agree with the others that it is a very personal choice. Everyone is comfortable with something different.

I told my mom at 5 weeks-- mainly because I had just started seeing an RE and my mom asked when I was going to start all of the hardcore testing. So, I had to tell her.

We told the rest of our immediate families at about 7.5 weeks on Fathers Day.

I started telling friends at 12 weeks. I was very nervous to start spreading the news-- even now, I am not screaming it from the rooftops.

We told parents immediately & siblings shortly thereafter. We told everyone else at 12wks

Everyone I know, was told by 10 weeks. I was an IVF pregnancy and I was tooooo excited to hide it any longer!! lol
