Re: When did you take your DC to the dentist for the first time
Our ped recommended at 3. We took DS just before 3 because I had some concerns. Our ped said to wait so that it would be a worth while visit vs when they are say 2 and will just fight the dr.
I prepped DS for a few weeks before, about opening his mouth so the dentist could see his teeth and told the dentist would give him a new tooth brush if he was a good boy. I also think what helped was coincidentally my MIL got DS one of those battery operated tooth brushes, so he wasnt afraid during the cleaning because it was similar to his new toothbrush.
ETA: I was dreading this but we went to a ped dentist and her and her staff were so nice at getting DS comfortable. They also had cartoons playing in the exam rooms. It wasnt soo well that DS even took Xrays all by himself! I was SHOCKED at how easy it was.

I'm taking AJ in two weeks. She's 2
BUT, She's been sick SOOO many times that she's a pro at "Say ahhhh"
We even play at home with a small flashlight and she looks at our teeth and we look at hers.
I think that will help.
I'll tell ya in about 10 days
