When did you stop Progesterone

Hi all,

Was wondering when some of you who were on progesterone supplements had stopped taking them. My doctor said I could stop now at 9 weeks but I feel better stopping at 12 weeks. Any thoughts?

Also, were there any effects that you felt when stopping the supplements?

I was on progesterone supplements and I stopped taking them around 10 weeks. I had no side effects from stopping them.

When I took them with my DD they said I could stop around 8-9 weeks but even with my supplements my progesterone was always around 12 so I asked to stay on them until week 12. Made me feel more at ease staying on them throughout the whole 1st trimester.

ETA - The only side effect, which was GREAT, was I wasn't as exhausted anymore. Between normal pregnancy exhaustion coupled with the the progesterone I literally couldn't function, I slept ALLLLLLL the time.

12 weeks, I dont risk it. If 12 weeks makes you feel more comfortable, then follow your gut and save yourself the stress of 2nd guessing.

I stopped at 10 weeks - no side effects.

i took them up to almost 20w just because i was a nervous nelly. i could have stopped around 14w

stopped PIO and enometrin at 12 weeks

I stopped PIO and e2v at 11wks on the dot. No symptoms.

With my first DS I was on the suppositories until 12 weeks and with this pregnancy, I was on the injections until 10 weeks. (This time I am having twins so I stopped earlier bc my body was producing more).

DS1 I stopped at 12 weeks. With DS2 who was conceived surprisingly without the help of an RE, I stopped at 10 weeks. RE said you can stop at 9 but he preferred that I stay on it one extra week.

I was using the Crinone suppositories up until week 10 when my OB/GYN said it was ok to stop. There were no side effects at all.

I ws using crinone and I stopped somewhere around 10-12 weeks. I did not have any side effects, but about a week or so after I stopped I noticed this gross discharge (it was basically the excess progesterone coming out). No one ever told me that could happen and I freaked out. Just in case it happens to you, its normal.
