When did you start your nurseries???

My DH and I are sitting here trying to decide when to start it... And since it is our first i have no idea what to do or where do to get our stuff from.... It is hard because we live above my parents and we used the nursery as a living room for us but now we have to make it kind of a split room... Any suggestions???

Re: When did you start your nurseries???

I think I will not start until I am 6 months. Then I will start putting curtains, decorations, etc. Right now this is our computer room so there is no need to change/move until we are closer to the date. That would give us 3 months to move stuff out, set up, decorate. Just in case baby comes a bit early!!!

Re: When did you start your nurseries???

Due to our crazy schedules, we didn't start until Thanksgiving weekend and we are still working on it. I am due the beginning of February.

I would take into consideration how much time you have to give to this and what major events you have coming up. For us, we are both in grad school and the holidays are coming up. We knew we wouldn't have a lot of free time so we started earlier than some other people who might be able to devote every weekend to it and NOT have the holidays coming up.

Re: When did you start your nurseries???

i am going to be really cutting it close, but due to a bathroom renovation and DH's schedule, we won't be doing it until 1 month before. We basically have to move the whole office out and into the guest room, paint the walls and put the baby furniture in. we're keeping the wood floors. i'll have to do curtains and stuff like that but i figure we'll be ok. I think a lot depends on how much you have to do to the room.

Re: When did you start your nurseries???

I was hoping to get started on it over the break, but I bet that won't happen. The room is already a nursery from the previous owners, but we need to skim coat over their old mural and repaint. I just want it to be done before my shower in February so I have someplace to put everything. Plus, my furniture won't be in for like another 10 weeks.
