When did you lower the crib mattress?
The first time (I think mine has three levels) ...
I had just been thinking to myself I should do it soon and this morning when I dropped Ann at daycare, they told me they lowered hers there yesterday!
(She'll be six months tomorrow)

it's by milestones--ds sat up and grabbed his mobile. if she's not sitting up unassisted, i'd leave it high as long as possible since it's easier.

Yes, when she was sitting up I lowered it, but I lowered it ALL the way. It saved a step in the end...that thing's a pain in the neck to lower.

As soon as she could pull herself up....prob aroun 5 1/2 months. She didn't perfect the pulling up until 6 1/2 months but we weren't taking any chances once we knew she could possibly do it.

i'm going to lower his this weekend - he was 5 mos yesterday. He woke up this morning and was entertaining himself... i found him sitting up with one [naked] arm draped over the rail!!! 
The kid is houdini. He often wakes up with one arm out of his PJs - he either gets the snaps/zipper open or just gets 1 arm out the top

the day ds put his hands on the railing while on his belly it went down.. though we skipped over the second level and went straigh to the third level
