When did you first leave baby with a sitter?
DD will be 3 weeks old this Friday and DH wants to go to a comedy show fundraiser for the Fire Department.
I told him we could go if we can find a GOOD babysitter and come home right after (we'd be gone about 3 hours)...but now I'm feeling guilty about leaving her to go out so soon.
I left her for an hour here and there with my mom and MIL so I could run to the store since she's not supposed to be in public places, but that is during the day and I hurried back...
Do you think it's too soon?

no, its not too soon, but why not have your MIL or Mom watch her since they have already watched her before?

Hmm....not a bad idea
My MIL is working and my parents would be the first people to ask (as well as my sister)

Re: When did you first leave baby with a sitter?
I've been leaving ds w/ mil for about 3 hours at a time since he was about 3 weeks old. I would take the time to go grocery shopping etc. Now that he is 7 weeks I add in an extra hour or two sometimes to shop or get a mani. He loves it there and loves her so I really don't think twice. I also feel very comfy b/c I set her up with pretty much everything he has at home. Plus he is ff so I don't have to think about milk issues. Once he is about 6 months she will be retiring and I will be going back to work so I think of this as great bonding and practice.

Re: When did you first leave baby with a sitter?
We had a wedding overnight when Bella was 7 weeks old. I was the MOH. We left her with my MIL.
I had no issues grabbing dinner with DH when she was 3-4 weeks old (left her with my sister) BUT even being with my sister, we were home in like 90 minutes!
Not sure how I would feel re: a stranger though?
