When did you first give juice

When did you start giving your babies juice? How much did you give and how many times a day? Megan is 6 months old and I was just wondering.

I started at about 10 months, I water it down 50/50

Steven is almost 4 months and my pedi said that I can start him on juice. No more than 4 oz a day, watered down 1/2 (so really 2 oz of juice). She said as long as it doesn't replace a meal.

But I don't know if I'm ready to give it to him yet. I feel like he's a little too young and want to try and keep him off the sweet stuff as long as I can.

I gave her juice at 4 mths as per her doctor. She only can get it from the sippy cup.

I gave Ava pear juice a couple of times for constipation at 4 months, but I no longer give her juice and will not be giving it to her.

No juice...don't feel she needs the sugar and there is no reason to give it...she does just fine with water and formula

I tried around 8 or 9 months and he didnt like it...

I stuck with water until after he turned 1.... then he started showing interest in it...

I keep a juice cup and water cup in the fridge and 80% of the time, he picks the water over the juice

We just started it now. Ped said we could at 6 month visit.

is there a reason you dont give ava juice? i gave alexandra prune juice for constipation also..but never heard from dr about juice yet..just wondering if there is a reason you dont give it to her..thanks

Most likely because juice is really just sugar and has no nutritional value for them. I only gave water until he was about 2 then he had juice and I wish I had just kept him on water only.

This is exactly the reason I don't give her juice. I was given so much juice as a child that it rotted my baby teeth and I had to have root canals as a three year old. I just don't think it's worth giving juice to Ava if she'll drink water and eat fruit.

oh ok..i agree as well..thats what i was afraid of with dd in the beginning and the dr said just to give it to her because its a natural laxative.

I waited until well after their first birthday...and we half it with water still.
