When did you buy DCs first shoes?

Our DD is standing and cruising but not walking yet. When do you think I should put shoes on her? Did you wait until your DC was really walking on their own or was it before that?

Im in same situation as you, and was told by a few BTDT's to wait until she is actually walking.

I got them when she was cruising. I actually got them when I realized when we went out that she still want to stand on the ground and not be held constantly. We were also going away to Miami and was worried about her walking on the hot pool deck and slightly skeeved about being barefoot in the hotel constantly.

ETA: I did get her the soft sole bottoms first because she had insanely small feet and there were not a ton of options. I think at 10 months (when I bought them) she was barely fitting in a size 1. She's now a 2/3 and 15months and it was still hard to find hard soled shoes.

We're going to be travelling in a few weeks also and DD wants to be standing all the time! I can put socks on her for the flight but if we are out I will probably want something non-slippy on her feet.

She is in size 1 now in stroller shoes. I might wait and buy her shoes in the same shoe store my mother bought my first shoes, which is thousands of miles from here.

DS is 7 months and is standing and cruising. We put shoes on him here and there just to get him used to having them on. He hated them for a few days and would not even crawl.....just sat there. Now we onlt put them on when we are out, so most of the time he is barefoot.

The ped said no shoes at all until they are full time walking- not cruising, not taking a few steps.

We got ours for DD at 9 months when she was fully walking.

If i remember the ped wanted him in socks as much as possible at that point. Shoes were for outside when he was realllllly walking. And even then it was very soft shoes.

I didn't get them shoes until they were almost fully walking. But even now at almost 2 years old my twins are always barefoot (socks in the winter) in the house. I only put their shoes on when we go somewehre.

not til she walks, we waited til logan was walking and then took him to stride rite

I bought my DD soft soled shoes like Robeez before she started fully walking. She loved walking around outside and in parks holding my hands so she definitely needed something on her feet. Now that she is completely walking by herself, I just bought her sneakers from Stride Rite. She's still barefoot the majority of the time and only wears the sneakers or sandals when we go out and she'll be walking.

DS started wearing Robeez at 5 months, simply because it started to get colder out and they kept his feet warm when we went out. He started walking early- at 10 months- so that is when we bought him his first pair of Stride Rite's.
